It's now long past time to impeach George W Bush.
Your NDT editor offers these thoughts on the weekend when the New York Times revealed the Selected Acting President (SAP) has taken the role of King George (according to Sen Russ Feingold (D) WI). The President of the US is not above the law. To the extent W thinks he is above the law he is unfit to preside. To the extent he is unwilling to recognize a higher authority, he is unfit to preside. To the extent he feels he is in comminucation with another higher authority, he is unfit to preside.
In addition to the SAP, your NDT editor also calls for the removal of those officials in the print and visual media who don't begin the active challenge of the SAP's right to hold the office. I also call for the Senate Intelligence committee to show some (intelligence), and inquire after those officials of the National Security Agency who had the opportunity to resist the illegal requests from the President and the White House, and failed to obey the higher law. ( continued => ) |
I intend to hold those senators who fail to pursue this challenge
as equally culpable in serious violations of the law.
The News' Dark Time, as a small corner of dissent in this otherwise acquiescent society, feels the need to speak in the strongest terms becuase an individual with a conscience, in order to live with itself, must dissent. In searching for other reasons, it can now be revealed that your editor was a seven-year employee of the same NSA whose reputation as a defender of this nation's security must be challenged. When we break our laws to defend our security, we break with the founding fathers who established the first government based, not on men, but on laws. We break with the patriots of that revolutionary struggle who fought to overthrow the idea that a nation's law could be bound up in a person; We break with the veterans and victims of our civil war who fought to uphold the republic over bigotry and slavery. We break with the veterans and victims of the great wars of the 20th century who fought to eliminate national regimes who would wipe out a whole people.
To the extent I draw a breath without denouncing the criminal in the White House, I demean the life I enjoy.
